Cost Estimation Policy

Cost estimates provided through SurgeryPlanet are based on information supplied by partner hospitals. This policy explains how estimates work and their limitations.

How Estimates Are Generated

When you request a quote, SurgeryPlanet shares your anonymized medical information with partner hospitals. Hospitals provide all-inclusive treatment package prices based on the information you've shared. We present these quotes to you for comparison. SurgeryPlanet does not set or control hospital pricing.

What Estimates Typically Include

  • Surgeon fees and anesthesiologist fees
  • Hospital room charges for the standard stay duration
  • Operating theater and equipment fees
  • Implant or prosthesis costs (if applicable)
  • Standard pre-operative tests
  • Post-operative medications during hospital stay
  • Nursing care and meals during hospitalization

What Estimates Typically Exclude

  • International flights and travel expenses
  • Accommodation outside the hospital
  • Companion expenses
  • Extended stay beyond the standard package duration
  • Post-discharge medications and supplies
  • Physical therapy or rehabilitation after discharge
  • Treatment for unforeseen complications

Why Actual Costs May Vary

Quoted prices are estimates based on the information available at the time. Actual costs may differ due to: changes in your medical condition discovered upon examination, unforeseen complications requiring additional treatment or extended stay, currency exchange rate fluctuations, hospital pricing updates, and individual patient needs not apparent from initial records. We recommend budgeting an additional 15–20% for contingencies.

No Guarantee of Price

Quotes are estimates, not binding contracts. Your final cost will be confirmed by the hospital after your pre-operative evaluation. Always get the final all-inclusive cost in writing before proceeding with treatment.
